Trip Itinerary
-
We arrive at the base in the early morning and take time to freshen up and prepare for the trek. After a simple Thai-style breakfast, we organise trekking gear and attend a short briefing.
Extra belongings can be left in the vehicle, while essentials are packed for the trail. Each participant receives a packed lunch wrapped in banana leaves and drinking water.
A short vehicle transfer brings us to the trailhead, where we meet local guides and porters before beginning the trek.
The trail crosses small streams and gentle slopes, following paths alongside waterfalls and shaded forest. Some areas may have leeches, especially after rain, and waterproof gear is recommended.
We stop for lunch along the trail before continuing through forested ridges and occasional cliff-side sections. After passing the Stone Gate, the trail becomes steeper as we ascend toward the Three-Leaf Pine Ridge.
A short climb leads to a scenic viewpoint for photography, where strong winds are common and care is required near cliff edges.
From there, we continue through banana groves to reach the campsite. After setting up tents, there is time to relax, explore the surroundings, or help the team prepare dinner.
In the late afternoon, we take a short hike to a viewpoint overlooking Monkey Head Hill, the mountain sea, and the vast grassy plateau of Lon Luang — a wide, open meadow perched dramatically at the edge of the park.
Dinner is enjoyed under the stars, sharing stories and soaking in the quiet beauty of the wilderness.
Overnight: Tent camping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner -
Before sunrise, we hike back up to Lon Luang Plateau to witness one of the highlights of Doi Luang Tak. As the sun rises, golden light spreads across the rolling meadows and distant mountain ranges, creating a breathtaking “sea of mountains.”
We return to camp for freshly brewed hand-drip coffee at the Morning Honey Coffee Station, served with bread and local honey, followed by a hearty breakfast.
After packing up, we join the team in a Leave No Trace activity, ensuring the campsite is clean and all rubbish is carried out.
We then begin the descent along the same forest trail, taking breaks to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
At the trailhead, cold drinks and snacks await before we return to the homestay for a shower, clean clothes, and a simple buffet-style lunch.
In the afternoon, we depart for Bangkok, stopping for dinner along the way before arriving late in the evening, marking the end of a memorable journey through Doi Luang Tak’s scenic landscapes.
